STATE PROJECTS

State Project Form

One of PASF's objectives is to assist and contribute to worthy projects. There are countless private non-profit and governmental organizations working in Latin America assisting people with their health and educational needs.  We encourage you to support the following projects.  For your information, a brief description of the various projects is included to assist you in your selection.

All contributions for the year must be received at the office no later than May 21, 2012.  Contributions sent directly to the project will not be made part of the PASF State Projects report.

Amigos de las Américas.  A medically-oriented charitable non-profit organization founded in 1965 in Houston, Texas,  Amigos is financed through participation fees augmented by donations.  Amigos is a youth-led program of public health assistance to Latin America.  Every year Amigos sends more than 500 young volunteers from around the U.S. to Latin America for four to eight weeks to conduct nutritional surveys, to help build sanitation systems in rural areas and to administer public health projects such as immunizations, eye examinations and dental hygiene.

PASF Cultural Program Trip.  Donations will help defray the expenses of providing this special opportunity to students from Texas.

TAMOAS Program.  Contributions will be accepted to this fund specifically set up to help PASF delegates selected to represent PASF at the Model OAS in Washington D.C.   For more information, contact the TAMOAS Director.

Myrtle L. Tanner Scholarship.  Donations will be deposited in this scholarship fund to ensure the availability of funds.

The Melissa Project for Cystic Fibrosis.  The project's long-term goal is the creation of a self-sustaining, fully equipped cystic fibrosis clinic in the National Children's Hospital in San José, Costa Rica.
